Prairie Grove Man Pleads Not Guilty on First-Degree Murder


An elderly Prairie Grove man who faces a first-degree murder charge has a trial date.

William Garland Smith, 75, entered a not guilty plea in a shooting death case in Washington County.

He’s accused of killing 62-year-old Shane Crawford last month on December 19 in Prairie Grove.

Smith is currently free on a $250,000 bond and his trial is set to begin on March 25.

If convicted, Smith faces up to life in prison.
