A water main repair has forced a precautionary ‘boil water order’ for several customers in Madison County, according to a notice by the water board.
On Friday, January 4, Madison County Water issued the notice as a precautionary measure because a water main repair has reduced the loss of normal pressure mainly in the Wharton Creek area, along Highway 74.
Customers should boil drinking water, water used for food preparation, and ice cubes — for one minute before using. The county will announce when the order is lifted.
