Preliminary Report Shows Two Tornadoes Touched Down in River Valley

Preliminary surveys show two separate tornadoes touched down in our viewing area damaging more than 100 homes.

Crawford County Emergency Management Coordinator Brad Thomas says he and the National Weather Service surveyed damage across the county early Sunday.

The storm that wreaked havoc in Van Buren is currently being labeled as a low-end EF-2 tornado.

Damage seen just east of Rudy and east of Mountainburg – Near Old Turner Road – is currently considered to be the results of an EF-1 twister.

The number of affected homes in Crawford County is now up to 135 with 5 homes completely destroyed.
