FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — President Donald Trump has granted Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s request for federal disaster declarations after severe storms damaged parts of the state.
Tornadoes and flooding damaged property in multiple counties between April 26 and May 19.
Hutchinson released the following statement on the declaration approval:
“This is welcome news for the Arkansas families and businesses who have been waiting patiently for relief from these disasters. These emergency funds will provide much needed relief that will help those coping with the aftermath of these storms to recover, rebuild and get back on their feet. I am especially appreciative of our federal delegation and their support and assistance during this process.”
