Punxsutawney Phil Predicts an Early Spring

Have you had enough of the winter weather yet?

Well as the legend has it, if the groundhog sees his shadow when it emerges from its burrow, we will have six more weeks of winter, and if it’s cloudy and he doesn’t, you can put away that winter coat sooner than expected.

Thousands of people gathered Saturday, February 2, at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to watch the groundhog deliver his anticipated forecast.

“Punxsutawney Phil” emerged from his burrow around 6:30 a.m. and did not see his shadow, predicting an early spring for us all.

No matter what “Phil” predicts, spring officially arrives in less than seven weeks.
