You can head to the Washington County Animal Shelter and meet this special pup.
Xena is a one-year-old shelty-Jack Russell Terrier mix. She was found abandoned out in the county and had a broken leg.
The shelter had to have her leg removed, but it didn’t slow her down a bit. She loves to fetch; loves to hike. Very people oriented and wants to be with people. She is great in the car, likes car rides and plays well with other dogs.
You have to kind of watch her on steps sometimes, but as you can see in the video, she’s very mobile for the loss of her limb.
Xena is housebroken, does well in apartments or in a house and would be great with kids.
They can’t have a lot of steps like that as it’ll take a toll on their joints. And also on dogs that have their limbs removed, weight is a main thing. People should always be very careful about their weight.
Don’t let them get overweight because that’s what really causes damage to those joints. Xena’s stitches are out and she is ready to go!
