In 2015 more than 33,000 calls were taken on the child abuse hotline, this according to the Arkansas Department of Child and Family Services.
Out of those calls, 24,000 cases were assigned to DCFS.
Tiffany Wright is a family services worker and says she has over 30 cases she is working.
Wright, along with dozens of others, gathered at the State Capitol Thursday holding signs and blue pinwheels hoping to grab the attention of Arkansans.
Wright says this problem wont stop until the community lends a hand.
“We see lots of drug abuse reports, lots of physical abuse reports and sexual abuse reports. If everyone can step up and just do a little bit to help each child in their community or each family in need in their community that hopefully our problem will be less,” said Wright.
