Razorback Superfan Riding to U of A Homecoming in Style

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — As the Razorbacks gear up to take on Tulsa, one superfan is cruising in a new hog-mobile.

Cave City native Canaan Sandy has been coming to University of Arkansas sporting events since he was just two months old.

But this time, he’s riding to Fayetteville in style. It all started with a tweet that caught the attention of Fletcher Dodge.

“We were driving a 2000 pathfinder that just turned over 400,000 miles,” Canaan’s mother, Ginger, said. “They said we sort of have a surprise for you. We want to trade our car even with your car.”

On Friday Canaan and his family took the brand new red Ford Focus for a spin, just in time for University of Arkansas homecoming.

“This game is my favorite of all time,” Sandy said.

But Canaan’s mother says it’s much more than a car.

“In a way, though, it belongs to all of Arkansas because their love and support for Canaan has encouraged people to want him to have a safe ride, a better ride, even though we were totally content. We are humbled and honored and in awe of everyone’s support,” Ginger said.
