Red Cross Working Nonstop to Help Hurricane Victims

News

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The American Red Cross is working around the clock to provide safe shelter and comfort for the tens of thousands of people impacted by Hurricane Michael.

The destruction can be seen throughout the region with severely damaged homes, schools, medical facilities and businesses. Hundreds of thousands are without power, roads are closed and travel is impacted

“The biggest challenge with this particular hurricane is the fact that so many people are without power. There’s still about 200,000 people without power and cell towers were knocked over, and I know the utility companies are doing everything they can to get people back in power quickly,” said Gail J. McGovern, president and CEO of American Red Cross.
