The issue of approving a permit for a red dirt mine in Fayetteville remains unresolved.
Washington County’s justices of the peace took no action on the Heritage Farm permit at Thursday’s meeting.
The potential dirt mine would be off Wedington drive on 20 acres of land with the dirt work lasting about 10 years.
In February, the planning board denied the permit after a long meeting where dozens of people voiced their opposition.
Last night, the quorum court voted to place the issue on it second reading but failed.
The Quorum Court is scheduled to revisit the red dirt mine permit at its meeting on April 18.
