Registered sex offender arrested for working on school grounds

A man was arrested in Springdale on June 11 for being on school grounds as a registered sex offender.

Mark Sullivan, 27, was working for a temp agency that was working at the Don Tyson School of Innovation. Sullivan is a registered level 3 sex offender.

According to a preliminary report, Sullivan’s parole officer contact the Springdale Police Department about Sullivan working there. Police contacted the temp agency that confirmed his employment and Sullivan’s GPS ankle monitor placed him at the school.

Sullivan was assigned to walk around the school campus picking up trash and placing plywood on the newly poured concrete.

Police contacted Sullivan who said he did not know summer school was going on at the campus. The law states that is unlawful for a level 3 or 4 sex offender to enter upon the campus of a public school.

Sullivan is being held at Washington County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
