FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — Rep. Steve Womack, R-Arkansas, now has challengers from the GOP, Democrats and Libertarians.

Michael Kalagias, a volunteer firefighter in Avoca, announced on Tuesday he would challenge Womack.

He released the following statement on the election:

”The people deserve better government. Steve Womack consistently receives failing marks from conservative groups for his actions in Congress because of his record of repeatedly voting to increase the national debt, increasing government spending and the size of government, and advocating new taxes. The people of Arkansas should have a representative that adheres to their values of responsible limited government, decreased spending, and lower taxes. That’s me.”

Robb Ryerse will face off against Womack in this year’s Republican primary. A Democrat, Joshua Mahony, has also challenged Womack.
