FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA) — One River Valley business is giving people the chance to enjoy Christmas magic without the Christmas cold.
The completely indoor Christmas Winter Wonderland opened almost ten years ago when owner Mary Merechka wanted to bring th spirit of the holidays to the River Valley. With hundreds of different props and trinkets, families have plenty to see and do.
It’s only open during the holiday season, so Merechka often requests food donations from customers to feed people for the holidays. She has also opened her doors outside of business hours to accommodate kids who may not be able to afford tickets.
Steven Maddox has spent years playing “Santa’s helper” at the Winter Wonderland and said it’s a good time for families to get to know their neighbors.
“The way things are going nowadays, we need to pull together as a community,” Maddox said. “This is just a good place for people to come and hang out.”
The Christmas Winter Wonderland is open Friday, December 21 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, December 22 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. qnd Sunday, December 23 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for children and $5 for adults and can be purchased at the door.
