ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Rogers Fire Department made a Facebook post around 1 a.m. announcing the death of Fire Captain Shawn Treat, who started with the department 23 years ago to the day. That post called him “a natural leader who drew other firefighters to him for counseling and coaching.”
Treat suddenly died Monday night while off duty, according to a Rogers Fire Station spokesperson.
“The RFD is sad, but we’ll be just fine,” the department said on its Facebook page. “We won’t miss a beat serving our city. It is exactly how Captain Treat would have demanded we behave.”
