A Benton County man was sentenced to federal prison for methamphetamine distribution, Thursday, January 10.

In addition to prison time for drug trafficking, Stephen Ray Wilson Jr., 39, of Rogers, was ordered to serve five years probation and pay a $3,900 fine, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Arkansas Duane Kees.

The DEA identified Wilson as a distributor of methamphetamine in the Benton County area, according to court records.

In January 2018, the DEA arranged and conducted a controlled purchase from Wilson, and the lab later determined the substance contained nearly 53 grams of actual methamphetamine, according to the press release.

A federal grand jury indicted Wilson in April 2018, and he entered a guilty plea in June 2018.
