The Rogers Police Department has made an arrest in connection to an attempted armed robbery at a Dollar General in Rogers on Sunday.

Tracy Wright, 47, was arrested Wednesday, along with another woman, after they allegedly stole a car from Car Time during a test drive.

Wright and the woman both said they were unable to return the vehicle back to the dealership because it kept breaking down.

Wright denied robbing the Dollar General store according to the probable cause statement. However, Wright mentioned holding a toy gun in his waistband when speaking with a detective.

Police say they found pieces to a toy gun on Monday near the Heritage High School, on the southwest side of the school. The pieces matched a broken toy gun tip that was collected as evidence at Guest Inn, which Tracy Wright was staying in.

Wright is facing charges of aggravated robbery and theft of a property, both felonies.

Wright has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1989 for burglary.
