ROGERS, Ark. (KFTA) — High school students in Rogers are making sure local foster kids don’t go without this holiday season.
Students with Rogers New Technology High School partnered with Court Appointed Special Advocates of Northwest Arkansas, also known as CASA, to “adopt a teen.”
Over the course of two weeks, they raised roughly $2,000 to purchase gifts for teens in our area who might normally go without presents.
“It’s just amazing to see how many gifts we’ve collected and to be able to deliver those to all the kids that wish for those gifts,” said Karen Garcia, a junior at New Technology High School.
“They’re now able to have a Christmas, whereas otherwise they might not have been able to have a Christmas or maybe not as big of a Christmas as they do now,” said Katie Crow with CASA of Northwest Arkansas.
Because of the students’ efforts, 12 CASA teens will have gifts to open on Christmas Day.
