Rogers to Add New Fire Station to Accommodate Growth

Leaders are preparing for a State of the City address that looks back at what the city has achieved in the past year.

But what does it’s future look like?

“We’ve really just seen such tremendous growth over the last several years, and we definitely expect that in the years to come,” the city’s Public Relations Manager, Ben Cline, said.

The City of Rogers is filled with a little over 66,000 people, according to the most recent numbers. and according to the city, it’s making room for more.
“It’s really exciting to see that these national brands are recognizing what we’ve got going on here in Rogers and that they’re deciding to make this their home as well,” said Cline.
But it’s not just the national companies making Rogers grow, it’s the local business owners who have dug their roots into the city.
“Whether you’re a Fortune 500 company or a small brewery, you have the opportunity to succeed and feel the success of the influence of other companies, other brands, and the people coming into our area,” said small business owner and long term resident,  Hannah Cicioni.
In less than five years, Cline predicts the private projects will be finished.
After living in Rogers for 23 years, Cicioni said this steady increase of growth makes her hesitant to live anywhere else.
“I feel the opportunity to really lay my roots down for my family to one day have here,” she said.
To keep up with the growing population, the city has also approved $3 million to allocate to a new fire station, which will help increase RFD’s response time.
“We’ve got a great thing going here in Rogers, and we just want to keep it going and we’re excited to take that next step as a city,” Cline said.
