ROGERS, Ark. (KFTA) — Rogers will receive a new look for its roads, and it could affect those commuting throughout the city.
Steve Cox of the Rogers Chamber of Commerce said he hopes the plan will bring positive changes to the local economy.
“Anytime you can improve your road conditions your going to improve your community, improve your businesses and quality of life,” Cox said.
The city is planning for the future and that includes changing the look of the main arteries, roadways and trails.
This new master plan will affect the whole city, incorporating a uniform grid system that will unify the city in small sections over time.
“This is a transportation plan so you’ve got everything from roads to trails in this as well, and really this is kind of a plan for action going down the road into the future,” said Ben Cline, public relations manager for the city.
The plan won’t take effect for several weeks as a bond for the initial work must be approved before any changes can occur.
City officials say this is the final master plan and could take up to 20 years to complete.
