Josue Hernandez is being held on a $15,000 bond for a number of charges, according to a Benton County probable cause affidavit.

On Sunday, February 17, Hernandez was involved in a traffic accident then ran from the crash while Rogers Police Department (RPD) chased after him, the affidavit states.

According to police, Hernandez was yelling “Don’t shoot me!” as he ran.

Hernandez attempted to enter the E-Z Mart on 13th Street, but RPD instructed the store clerk to lock the door and then put Hernandez in handcuffs, the report states.

RPD searched his pockets and found a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine, police said.

Hernandez smelled of intoxicants and his eyes appeared bloodshot, according to Chase Longshore with RPD.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office transported him to a hospital for his injuries occurred in the crash, the report states.

Once medically cleared, Hernandez told officers he “wrecked into a telephone pole”.

His next court date is at 8 a.m. on March, 25.
