Salvation Army Prepares Holiday Meal

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The Salvation Army has been prepping it’s Thanksgiving meal Wednesday ahead of the holiday tomorrow.

Companies and families from all over have donated time, effort and food to the cause so those in need can celebrate the holiday in a traditional manner.

About 30 turkeys have been prepared for the event.

One volunteer said the goal is to be a light for people in dark times.

“This is a hard time of year to be alone. This is a hard time to be, you know, down in the dumps, and we just want to know that hey, you get a warm meal, we’re here for you, and that’s what we’re here to do,” said Katie Morris, public relations and volunteer coordinator for the Salvation Army.

About 300 people are expected to come out.

It’s at Genesis Church on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Fayetteville.

You can come and eat or volunteer to help the event run smoothly.
