School Employee Accused of Sexually Assaulting 16-Year-Old Student

WALDRON, Ark. (KNWA) - A Waldron Public School employee was arrested Monday after she admitted to investigators that she was having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Jessica Williams is facing up to five counts of sexual assault 1st degree and one more count of tampering with evidence.

At the time of the incident, Williams was the Waldron Middle School assistant principal, according to Waldron Public Schools website.

On Monday, Waldron police started an investigation into a Waldron Public School employee, based off of a tip and anonymous letter left at the Central Office, according to a news release.

"The allegations stated that a female Waldron School administrator was having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16 y/o male student," the news release states.

Officers then interviewed the teenager on Monday afternoon at the police department. The teen told police he "had been having a sexual relationship with Williams since early in the summer."

The teen also told police about inappropriate photos that were exchanged on several occasions.

Officers said they were able to get some evidence from the teen.

Williams was then interviewed at the Waldron Public School Central Office, during the interview she admitted to having sexual contact with the 16-year-old on several occasions.

Williams was taken to the Scott County Jail.

The Waldron Police Department is still investigating these allegations.
