Searcy Schools Call Police on Reporters Investigating School Security

News

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – Two Searcy schools called police Wednesday on two reporters who went into two schools on assignment to test security.

The Daily Citizen, the newspaper that employs the reporters, said the reporters were on assignment.

One reporter went into Searcy High School and the other into Riverview High School.

The Searcy School District said one of the reporters asked permission to go into a school, but after being denied did so anyway.

Some parents think the newspaper should have taken a different approach in light of sensitivity surrounding recent school safety.
