Homeowners in Sebastian County outside of Fort Smith will receive assistance in cleanup activities from the flooding.

According to Sebastian County Judge David Hudson, dumpsters will be located at two sites:

– Central City – City Complex – 1101 Highway 255
– Lavaca Area – 3010 Rodeo Arena Road

The dumpsters will be operated Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. beginning Friday, June 7th and lasting through Saturday, June 22nd.

A proof of residency will be required at the cleanup site including a driver’s license or other identification showing residency, such as a utility or a sanitation bill.

Three dumpsters will be located at each site, one for appliances, one for yard waste and one for construction debris.

Each site will be staffed with Road Department employees to ensure items are placed in the correct place. A backhoe will be used to help load and compact the dumpsters.

This cleanup activity will be monitored over the next two weeks to determine it needs to be extended.
