Sex Offender Sentenced for Fracturing 1-month-old Baby’s Skull

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A convicted sex offender has been sentenced to prison for fracturing his 1-month-old son’s skull.

The Washington County Clerk’s Office confirmed that Anthony Wayne McKown, 31, of Springdale pleaded guilty to battery in Washington County Circuit Court.

McKown received a 20-year Arkansas Department of Correction prison sentence for the battery, as well as a10-year sentence for failure to register as a sex offender.

McKown was arrested on suspicion of battery in June 2016.

Staff at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale contacted police after a baby with a skull fracture was brought to the hospital. Medical authorities found that the injury was caused by blunt force trauma.
