Shake Hands with Bentonville City Officials at Meet and Greet Event

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — Downtown Bentonville is giving people the chance to shake hands with the first new mayor the city has seen in over ten years.

Department heads, city council members and new mayor, Stephanie Orman will all be in attendance at the Meet Your Bentonville Team event on Wednesday, January 9.

Mayor Orman took over the post occupied by former mayor Bob McCaslin for the past 12 years. She was sworn in early January, and said the transition has been smooth.

Orman said the meeting is a good chance to ask about the multiple projects going on in the city.

“We have a new fire station,” Orman said. “We’ve got the call center for our police department. We’ll be talking about the animal shelter, so lots of projects coming through.”

Orman went on to say for those who cannot attend the meeting, there will be plenty of opportunity to reach her going forward.

“You’re going to see us roll out some technologies for communication,” Orman said. “So we’re going to be really engaged with the public. It’s been fun to listen and hear their ideas and I think you’ll see us start to implement those with more public input.”

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 9 at the Record Downtown located at 104 SW A Street. It is free and open to the public.
