Some Fayetteville Residents Upset Over Rock Quarry Plans

News

There are plans to build a rock quarry on Greenburrow Road in West Fayetteville, but some residents are not happy about it.

“You have to get a conditional use permit. You have to apply for it and you have to meet criteria; compatibility, safety, [and it] doesn’t damage other people’s property value,” said Marty Matlock, Washington County resident.

“Nobody wants a landfill by their house, nobody wants a water treatment plant, but at the end of the day, that’s it,” said Bobby Morris, Heritage Farms NWA owner.

The plan was not approved during the meeting.
