In a KNWA update, the Food and Drug Administration said it’s now okay to eat some romaine lettuce again.
This comes after the agency issued a warning last week to avoid eating romaine lettuce because of an e-coli outbreak. The FDA said the contaminated lettuce appears to have come from the central coast region of California.
The FDA said it’s okay to eat romaine lettuce so long as it’s not from that affected area. The produce industry plans to start putting harvest dates and regions on labels to help consumers learn more about the product.
