‘Something Urban’ Boutique Closing on Dickson Street

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A business on Dickson St. that’s been open for nearly 20 years is closing its doors.

Fayetteville boutique Something Urban joins a list of businesses, like Blackboard Grocery and Eatery, that recently announced closures.

Owner Megan Kelsey says this has nothing to do with why other stores are closing downtown. She’s moving for family reasons and hasn’t been able to sell the boutique.

“I’ve actually been trying to sell since August. We’ve had some buyers come along and unfortunately we’ve had them fall through, so this is a great opportunity for someone to get it for a really good deal,” Kelsey said.

Something Urban is still looking for a buyer, but in the meantime its offering a 50% off going-out-of-business sale.

Kelsey says it’s disappointing to see other businesses on Dickson closing, especially when foot traffic remains high.

The store will be closing at the end of January.
