Spay Arkansas held its third annual “Spay-ghetti” dinner at Fred’s Hickory Inn in Bentonville on Sunday
The organization was founded in 2007 with the goal of providing low cost spay and neuter services to those in need.
Proceeds from the Spay-ghetti dinner will fund the organization’s “Fixed for the Holidays” event and other programs to ensure that all Northwest Arkansans can afford to fix their pets.
Fixed for the Holidays allows the group to provide spay and neutering services for $5 for cats and $10 for dogs.
“For the last seven years, we’ve gifted more than $40,000 worth of surgeries because of programs just like this,” said Romaine Kobilsek, board president of Spay Arkansas. “We’re hoping for another great year.”
Last year, Spay Arkansas raised $9,000 at the dinner.
The group is hoping to raise even more this year through silent auction items and raffles.
Spay Arkansas has several events coming up, including a three-day trip to Mountain View, where they will perform spay and neuter services for 400 animals in three days.
