SPIRO, Okla. (KNWA) — Spiro Public Schools will be out of session due to lack of state funding.
The school system announced on its Facebook page that because of a lack of a long-term funding solution by the Oklahoma Legislature, school will not be in session Monday and until further notification.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause,” the post states. “There has been ample time to address the long-term funding issues of the state, now we must stand in the gap for our students.”
If school isn’t in session, breakfast will be served from 7:30-8 a.m., as well as lunch from 11 a.m. to noon.
The school will use its website, mobile app and social media pages to inform residents of when school will be back in session.
