Springdale Animal Services reopened after canine distemper cases

News

Springdale Animal Services has reopened today after being closed for canine distemper cases.

According to a press release from the city, the shelter will resume normal hours of operation beginning today (May 6).

The adoption fees on any dogs that are already spayed/neutered have been totally sponsored to approved adopters.

The shelter will only send dogs home to families that do not have other dogs, or to families with dogs over 5 months old, and have current vaccinations. This is a precaution to keep the pets safe.

The shelter is currently housing 61 dogs that are ready to be adopted.
