Springdale Kids Have a Yippee Ki-Yay Good Time at Stick Horse Rodeo

Students learned all about agricultural history while testing their best roping and riding skills.

First graders took part in Stick Horse Rodeo at T.G. Smith Elementary in Springdale on Friday.

The annual tradition began with the students riding their stick horses in school hallways.

They also took part in several rodeo-themed  competitions focused on science, math and technology.

“There’s this poster of a cow and there was a glove with water in it. We got to put the water in a bucket,” said Anna Lindsey, a student.

This week’s rain hampered the students’ trip to Parsons Stadium, where they usually celebrate the annual Stick Horse Rodeo.
