SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KFTA) — A Springdale man died from injuries suffered in a two-car accident Tuesday.
Javier Mancia, 64, was pronounced dead at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, according to a news release issued by the Springdale Police Department.
Police were called to the intersection of Thompson Street and Randall Wobbe Lane at approximately 7:10 a.m.
At the scene, they found that a black 2004 Cadillac CTS and a 1997 maroon Chevrolet Tahoe had been involved in an accident, the news release states.
Officers investigated the collision and obtained witness statements.
Officers determined that the driver of the Chevy Tahoe was traveling north on Thompson and the Cadillac was turning south from Randall Wobbe onto Thompson. The Chevy Tahoe did not yield at the red light and struck the Cadillac’s driver door, the news release states.
The driver of the Cadillac was identified as Mancia.
The driver of the Tahoe was identified as Christian Rainwater, 20, of Springdale. Rainwater was cited for careless and prohibited driving and no insurance, the news release states.
The accident is still being investigated and further charges are pending at this time, according to the news release.
