From low unemployment rates to a booming economy, Springdale is on the rise.
Mayor Doug Sprouse named several accomplishments in his State of the City address Monday.
Sprouse also thanked voters for passing several bond issues to help the city continue to grow.
It’s Sprouse’s eleventh year as mayor, and he says he’s excited about the future and the progress of the downtown area.
“I did talk a lot about downtown; so many exciting things coming to downtown and have already happened,” Sprouse said. “If you compare it to what our downtown was two or three years ago, you see a tremendous difference, and that’s going to continue. I think it’s actually going to accelerate.”
Sprouse also announced that the city will be forming a Complete Count Committee for the 2020 census to make sure everyone is accounted for so to get back funds to help build and maintain city streets.
