The City of Springdale held the first of two meetings to allow residents to say what they want from the Parks and Recreation department.
They’re doing this in an attempt to update the programs already being offered and keep up with what residents are interested in.
This could be anything from creating a disk golf league to building more public gathering spaces.
“We see some national trends in the declining participation rates in youth sports, so that’s a concern for every community. We’re also at these crossroads where people, particularly kids, have different interests,” said Dr. Steve Dittmore, professor of Recreation and Sport Management.
If you couldn’t make it Monday night, the city will hold another public meeting on Wednesday.
