SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA) — Students at Central Junior High in Springdale have honored the service of American veteran’s with a special assembly.

The rally is put together by both students and teachers.

It’s a way for the kids to develop a deeper understanding of the sacrifice men and women make for the freedoms each American citizen is given.

“I want our students to leave this school with a deep respect and appreciation for the people who have served this country,” said Todd Loftin, principal at Central Junior High School.

Different elements are put together for the assembly including a speaker band and chorus.

After the rally, students can mingle and chat with actual veterans about their time in the armed forces.
