Arkansas State Police investigators have completed their investigation into the Centerton Police Department.

Benton County Prosecutor Nathan Smith said he has received the completed investigation file from State Police. He said is he hoping to have a decision made this week.

Police Chief Cody Harper and Capt. Kristopher Arthur were fired during a special city meeting in May. However, later in the month they were rehired and placed on paid administrative leave.

Arthur had been put in charge of the Police Department on an interim basis in early May while Harper was placed on paid administrative leave and an investigation into Harper took place. That investigation was conducted by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation into Harper was launched because of “accusations” against him. The nature of those accusation were not disclosed, but Harper was cleared, Centerton City Attorney Brian Rabal previously said.
