Students Attend First Classes at New Bentonville West High School

Monday was the first day of classes at the new Bentonville West High School.
Students and teachers spent a full school day inside, but there’s still some construction that needs be completed on the outside.
The road right outside the high school still has an area of sidewalk  that has yet to be completed, but nothing that’s really interfering with the school day at this point.
Parents along with principal Jonathan Guthrie all said the first day back went pretty smooth.
“As you know the construction at Gamble Road and Seba and really several other roads in the area have gone on through out the summer. And we’re thrilled to say that most of that work is complete and traffic went very well today,” Guthrie said.
One parent, Lori Kehmeier  said it was a better experience than Bentonville High School.
“Because, I have a sophomore and going to BHS is always bad! But coming here it was so smooth this morning,” she said.
Principal Guthrie told said the staff held meetings prior to Monday to make sure everyone was on the same page when it comes to student safety.
Centerton police also helped in making today a success. Officers were out patrolling all afternoon.
