FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — Students and fans are speaking out about Mike Anderson’s firing.
There were mixed reactions on the University of Arkansas campus Tuesday.
Some say it came as a complete shock.
Most could agree that his firing was rather abrupt after the season ended.
“A lot of coaches have it, but they kind of hit a plateau, and he kind of hit a plateau. He started the plateau about three years ago ,and now he’s kind of not gone where we need him to be or want the team to be. He’s a great guy, though,“ Freshman Evan Shapleigh said.
Freshman Bo Warner adds, “he’s always been an up-tempo, positive coach…It‘s kind of sad hearing that.“
Students say overall he was well-liked on campus, and though the team was young it did have potential to grow.
