BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — Students at the Brightwater Center for the study of food faced off today to see who could cook the best burger.
Students in the Brightwater program compared their burgers with scholarships on the line.
The competition is also used to see which student will represent the program at the Bite Northwest Arkansas Festival in June.
“For culinarians, I think cooking a burger is always fun, but competing is another layer that adds excitement and fun to the event,” said Glenn Mack, executive director of Brightwater Center for Study of Food. “Then the opportunity to represent Northwest Arkansas Community College to the entire region with their burger is a great honor.”
The winner, Austin Bond, will get to serve a portion of their food to about 2,000 patrons at the festival.
His winning entry, a mozzarella cheeseburger, with a tomato-bacon-basil marmalade.
