With metabolic and anxiety disorders posing significant health problems, both are in the spotlight.

We’ve known stress and obesity are related, but scientists from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem discovered a definitive link between the two. Doctor Kristin Roller with Roller Weight Loss says finding that connection is something that can not only help doctors treat patients, but patients can help themselves.

Medical Director Roller Weight Loss & Advanced Surgery Kristin Roller says, “Finding that there’s an actual metabolic link to the two is very important. It’s comforting for patients to know, well maybe it’s not just because I’m lazy, or not because I’m – that I don’t get out an exercise every single day.”

Doctor Roller says there are some ways you can help ease your stress levels which can help manage your weight. Get plenty of exercise, sleep, and try to east less fast food – aim for healthy meals. Managing your time and planning in advance will help too.

This new research also provides several opportunities for doctors to use new treatments for both metabolic and anxiety-related disorders.
