Super Bowl Ad Prices Have Doubled Over the Last Ten Years

The Super Bowl isn’t just the biggest day of the year for football, it is also the most expensive advertising day of the year.

Super Bowl ad time sold for a record $5.2 million this year, which is up from last year.

Many of the usual brands are back, such as Anheuser Busch buying six-and-a-half minutes of ad time.

Other ads include at least five carmakers including KIA, Audi, and Mercedes.

This year’s Super Bowl LIII, there is a “new theme” of ads that target and feature women.

Serena Williams stars in Bumble’s ‘The Ball is In Her Court’ ad and Olay’s is running its first super bowl ad with Michelle Gellar.

“The price of a Super Bowl ad has doubled over the last ten years and that stands in contrast to premiere prime time tv programming where the average price of a commercial because of audience fragmentation and rating erosion has actually fallen 12 percent over the last decade.” Kantar Chief Research Officer Jon Swallen said.

Facebook said last year during the Super Bowl, over 90% of tv advertisers were also advertising on Facebook.
