Visitors from a galaxy far, far away delighted kids at Arkansas Children’s Northwest Monday.
Members of The Diamond Garrison of the 501st Legion, a worldwide costume club, spread joy at the hospital by dressing up as beloved Star Wars characters and bringing along everyone’s favorite droid, R2-D2.
Charles Brown, the club’s commanding officer, said it’s nice to make the children smile and forget where they are just for a moment.
“It’s always a great opportunity to see the kids come out and see the kids really smile and enjoy it,” Brown said. “Just for a few moments [they] forget that they are sick. [They] just really love Star Wars and seeing them in character.”
This was the first time the group visited Arkansas Children’s Northwest. They say it was a great experience.
