Thousands Evacuate Before Hurricane Florence Hits East Coast

Hurricane Florence is expected to be the strongest storm to target the Carolinas and Virginia region in decades.

Thousands of people have been ordered to evacuate before the category 4 storm makes landfall. Last minute preps continue right now from Virginia through the Carolina coast, as Florence begins to close in.

The window of opportunity to prepare or get out is quickly closing. The rain and wind is expected to start later today with conditions going from bad to worse, very quickly.

“The waves and the wind that this storm may bring is nothing like you’ve ever seen.  even if you’ve ridden out storms before this one is different….don’t bet your life on riding out a monster,” said Gov. Roy Cooper of North Carolina.

Evacuations started Tuesday and will continue Wednesday more than a million people from Virginia through the Carolinas.
