MULDROW, Ark. (KNWA) – A man arrested for having a gun on school property has been pegged for a burglary along with a woman and teen accomplice.
Dalton Geren and Kaitlyn Willet were both arrested on suspicion of burglarizing the Muldrow Cherokee Community Center on Jan. 15, according to the Muldrow Police Department news release.
Geren had been arrested for possession a firearm on school property, but then brought up the burglary, the news release states.
Geren at fist said he knew something about the burglary, saying that he had a friend who said it was “fun.” However, he changed his story several times and was eventually arrested for the burglary by Sgt. Mark Harkins, according to the news release.
Harkins later interviewed Willet who admitted to being involved in the burglary, the news release states.
“(The) Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office May have additional charges on another building that was broken into as well as some vandalism to a local cemetery by some if not all of these individuals from Sgt. Harkins Investigation,” the news release states.
A 17 year old was also interviewed and arrested in connection with the burglary, authorities said.
