Three People Arrested After Agents Found 50 Ibs of Marijuana

Three people were arrested after Benton County detectives found 50 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle on Tuesday, according to an affidavit. 

An agent with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics found the marijuana after pulling over a man who was heading to Garfield, Ark., to deliver the substance, according to an affidavit.

The man was then taken to the Benton County Narcotics Unit. The man told agents that he was delivering the marijuana to a woman, picking up cash and a Corvette to take back to New Mexico. 

The man said he was told that he would get paid $15,000 when he returned to New Mexico. 

The man then agreed to deliver the substance to the Women under the Benton County Narcotics Unit, according to an affidavit.

Jeffrey D. Card, Christopher Ramirez and Megan Lee Wingett were arrested. 

Card faces a charge of conspiracy delivery of a schedule VI controlled substance. 

Ramirez faces charges of conspiracy delivery of a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a certain person and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. 

Wingett faces charges of conspiracy delivery of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a certain person.
