Tiger Rescued by Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge Dies

One of six tigers that were rescued from a facility in Oklahoma and taken to Arkansas has died.

The Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs announced that Diesel passed away due to a blood illness likely caused by ticks or fleas.

Diesel had shown signs of illness when he was rescued last week.

Members of the refuge traveled more than 700 miles to rescue the six tigers.

The other five tigers are in good health after being saved from what officials called an emergency situation.

Some of the tigers are now on display at the refuge and donations are being taken to cover their expenses.
