WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR — Planned lane closures over the next few weeks may impact traffic on Highway 71B and I-49.
Beginning Tuesday, March 10, the inside lane in both the northbound and southbound directions of Highway 71B (Fulbright Expressway) will close. The lane closures are expected to last for one week, starting every night at 8:00 p.m. and continuing through 6:00 a.m.
In addition, lane closures can be expected near log mile 40, south of the Bobby Hopper Tunnel, and near log mile 60, in the vicinity of the Cato Springs Road Interchange. The inside lane in both the northbound and southbound directions will be closed at various times for two weeks.
The lane closures will be removed when no work is being performed.
Crews will be installing wire rope safety fence along these sections of I-49 and Highway 71B. Work on the project is expected to be complete in mid-2015.
