A local skate park is getting a makeover, a Natural State, themed transformation.
The Bentonville skate park’s new design is a collaboration between the a local advertising agency and the Bentonville High School’s Ignite Program.
Student’s worked with agency employees to show Arkansas’ natural beauty.
Parks and Recreation Director David Wright says it’s all about encouraging people to get out.
“I hope that the public art promotes skating, and promotes memorial park, and promotes more users here. If we do that, you know maybe dreams in the master plan come true,” Wright said.
The design will look like a riverside, including fish, foliage, and even a sandbar.
Thursday was the first day that the park was available to skate on with the new designs.
